BIOFOULING PROTECTION SYSTEMS

Our Expertise

Ultrasonic Antifouling Systems

Ultrasonic

Ultrasonic anti-fouling technology utilizes high-frequency sound waves to prevent marine organisms from attaching to surfaces. Our systems are designed to protect various marine surfaces from biofouling.

How It Works

The BPS technology protects marine surfaces from the effects of biofouling. Our ultrasonic systems use ultrasound to limit and restrict the ability of microorganisms to attach to surfaces that are exposed to water. Ultrasonic waves are transmitted through these surfaces to create an ultra-thin layer of high pressure between the protected surface and the surrounding water. This area of high pressure prevents microorganisms from attaching.

Environmental Impact

Our ultrasonic anti-fouling systems offer a significant environmental advantage over traditional solutions.  By significantly decreasing hydrodynamic drag, BPS Marine's ultrasonic anti-fouling systems decrease fuel consumption and therefore, carbon emissions.  This also improves safety and performance.

BPS Marine's ultrasonic anti-fouling technology increases the life of marine coatings tremendously by reducing the amount of physical cleaning and scraping needed.  This significantly reduces the amount of microplastics released into our water ways each year.  Microplastic pollution is the single greatest contributor to the amount of microplastics found in our oceans today.

Invasive Species

Invasive aquatic species transfer is another dangerous effect of marine biofouling.  Invasive aquatic species are known to be the single greatest drivers of biodiversity loss in the ocean today.

We are proud to be a partner protecting the biodiversity and integrity of our beautiful oceans and water ways.  Join us in creating a more sustainable maritime industry while providing you the opportunity to optimize your business.
