How much power does the BPS-4 consume?
The BPS-4 system is incredibly efficient. Each of its four transducers requires just 0.25 Amps, for a total power draw of only 1 Amp when fully active.
Does the system need to run 24/7?
Yes. Marine growth is a constant threat. The system is designed for continuous operation to ensure the biofilm can never establish a foothold on the hull. Its low power draw makes this 24/7 protection feasible without significant battery impact.
Will the BPS-4 clean a hull that is already dirty?
No. Ultrasonic antifouling is a preventative system, not a cleaning system. The hull must be cleaned and free of all marine growth before the system is installed and activated for it to be effective.
Will the system damage my hull?
No. The ultrasonic vibrations are microscopic and do not cause any structural stress, fatigue, or delamination to fiberglass, aluminum, or steel hulls. It is a proven, non-destructive technology.
Does the boat need to be hauled out for installation?
No. Since the entire system is installed from inside the boat, you do not need to haul out.
