See the documented impact of our ultrasonic antifouling technology.

At BPS Marine, we are committed to validating the performance of our ultrasonic antifouling systems through rigorous field testing. We conduct ongoing studies on various vessel types in some of the most challenging marine environments to ensure our products deliver effective, reliable results. Explore our case studies below to see the documented proof for yourself.

Riva 132 Case Study

How do you protect a world-class, 132-foot superyacht from the relentless, aggressive bio-fouling of Ft. Lauderdale's tropical waters? This case study documents the BPS Marine solution. After installing our advanced PRO-8 ultrasonic antifouling systems, the Riva was launched and remained in the water for 8 continuous months with zero additional hull cleaning.

Upon haul-out, the results were undeniable: the hull was spotless. Read the full case study to see how BPS Marine technology worked flawlessly, providing complete protection and validating our system's effectiveness for the most demanding vessels in the world's most challenging marine environments.

Boat Lift Case Study

Stationary marine infrastructure like boat lifts are a magnet for aggressive bio-fouling, leading to seized components, structural strain, and costly, labor-intensive cleaning. In the high-growth waters of Ft. Lauderdale, this is a constant battle.

To prove a better solution exists, BPS Marine installed our ultrasonic antifouling system on a metal boat lift and left it untouched for 8 continuous months. The result? Upon inspection, the submerged framework was completely spotless, free of all marine growth.

Aquila 36 Case Study

BPS Marine conducted a 30-week field test of its ultrasonic anti-fouling system on an Aquila 36 Sport Power Catamaran. The test took place in the challenging, high-growth waters of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, an area known for exceptionally vigorous marine fouling due to warm, nutrient-rich waters.

Upon inspection after the 30-week period, the catamaran's hulls were found to be free of essentially all marine growth, coated only with a light, powdery residue. This test successfully validated the effectiveness of the BPS Marine ultrasonic antifouling system in preventing biofouling over an extended period.

Bennington Case Study

The study was performed on a Bennington 25QX tritoon in West Palm Beach, Florida, a location selected for its "worst-case" high-growth conditions. The test included a 14-day unprotected control period, where the BPS Marine system was left inactive, to establish a baseline for fouling accumulation. After documenting the initial growth, the pontoons were cleaned, and the system was activated

After 14 days with the system active, a follow-up inspection revealed that minimal growth had occurred. The study successfully demonstrated that BPS Marine ultrasonic systems provide an effective and safe solution for preventing fouling on aluminum hulls and pontoons, even without the use of bottom paint.
